State Income Tax (Line 61)

This year, Californians will have the opportunity to donate to the California Sexual Violence Victim Services Fund on their annual state income tax form.

Assembly Bill 190 authored by Assemblymember Gloria Negrete-McLeod (D-Chino) and sponsored by the California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (Cal*CASA) was signed by the Governor on September 2, 2005. The bill added the California Sexual Violence Victim Services Fund to the California state income tax form, as an option for taxpayers to make donations.

The fund will support the 84 rape crisis centers across the state, giving a much needed increase beyond the statewide total of $50,000 that rape crisis centers currently receive from state general funds. Funds generated by this tax check off option will enable rape crisis centers to continue to make a difference in the lives of rape victims.

Join the fight in California to help rape victims recover, rebuild and heal.

Donate $1

...for every child you love.

...for every woman you care about.

...for every person you know that has been affected by rape.

...to create a world free from sexual violence.

How to Do It

Supporters can donate any amount they wish to the fund, and in doing so they contribute either a portion of their tax-return, or simply add that amount to what they already owe.

In either event, donors are able to deduct the donation from their next year’s tax liability.

This is a great way to make use of an unexpected refund or to strategically plan for next tax-season!

To donate, simply write in the amount to be contributed in Line 61, “CA Sexual Violence Victim Services Fund” on the California State Income Tax form.

Please feel free to pass this message on to the people you care about and give them the opportunity to create a world free from sexual violence.
